Ovarian Cancer Coalition of Central South Carolina was created as an organization to educate women about this disease that continues to be a leading cause of death in women in the United States.
At this time, many women diagnosed with ovarian cancer have advanced disease and require prolonged medical treatment. We at the foundation would like to see this change so that fewer women have advanced disease and that all women have access to awareness information.
Since many women and even physicians find themselves in a position of not knowing the signs, symptoms, and risks for ovarian cancer, the Ovarian Cancer Coalition of Central South Carolina wants to become a source of valuable information for educating women in the Midlands of SC. The means of disseminating the information would be through multiple methods including media campaigns, written literature, lectures, word of mouth, and the Internet.
